A FOREST OF MONITORS

Building community through food

The first multimedia setup made from a bamboo forest

On the occasion of Expo Milano 2015, we have created a complete multimedia setup for Vanke. Inside the pavilion, a bamboo forest was recreated in which the most complex synchronous monitor installation ever made in Italy was installed.

THE NEEDS

"Building community through food"

Vanke expressed the need to create a pavilion entitled “Building community through food” that would be representative of China, of the habits and culture related to food in its country. The design idea for the pavilion was entrusted to Daniel Libeskind, an internationally renowned architect, while the theme was developed by the firm Ralph Appelbaum Associates. The multimedia setup was entirely designed and built by our company, playing a key role in the realization of a very ambitious project from a technical point of view.

THE SOLUTION

A synchronized multimedia forest

We have created a bamboo forest thanks to the installation and management of all the multimedia devices present and to the playback of audio and video in HD simultaneously on 200 monitors.

The audio and video software (VSV) has been developed in-house and we have also designed the multimedia management server that can work with the desired performance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The 22” frameless monitors used for the installation were supplied by Samsung and purchased specifically for the construction of the pavilion.

The anchorage of the monitors to the bamboo determined the collaboration with the architect Mauricio Cardenas. An unprecedented anchorage was designed for the monitor brackets, which allowed them to be installed on the bamboo, guaranteeing weight support and maintaining a harmonious image of the elements.
