A MUSEUM FOR THE REBIRTH OF A MYTH

THE TIME MACHINE

The multimedia setup of the Alfa Romeo Historical Museum

We have created, for Alfa Romeo, a multimedia setup for the restyling of the entire historical museum of Arese. The realization of a visit path that combines the technological progress of the car manufacturer and the digital innovation brought by CWS.

THE CUSTOMER

Alfa Romeo: a four-wheeled soul

Alfa Romeo is an Italian car company known for the production of sports cars founded on 24 June 1910 in Milan as ALFA (“Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili”). Throughout its history, it has produced many road cars and concept cars that have marked the design history of the Italian automotive industry.

Information, cars and captions that were in danger of being lost

The idea of creating an Alfa Romeo Museum is attributed to Orazio Satta Puliga in the years following the Second World War; the inauguration took place in 1976 after Luigi Fusi took care of collecting the material, restoring the cars and writing the captions. In 2009, the museum was closed.

Redevelop an area to revive a myth

Alfa Romeo decided to redevelop the entire complex of Arese to relaunch the historicity and authenticity of the brand. 

The Museum has been developed on two fundamental concepts: the story and the rebirth of a myth

The project for the interior design of the Museum was completed in just 4 months from the entrance to the construction site to meet the opening date of 24 June 2015.

THE SOLUTION

When multimedia integrates with history

The Time Machine” is a three-storey museum. The first one, thanks to touchless technology, offers contents to “leaf through” with a simple touch. In the second one, a full-screen video projection reproduces clips of films about the car. 

On the Speed floor, it is possible to find The legend is born. An ellipsoidal curved environment that, thanks to 13 projectors on a 35-metre wall, envelops the viewer in a 360° view. The great achievements are evoked in the Time of the victories, a room with a curved perimeter bounded by a flexible LED screen of 34 meters that allows multi-projection

All the installations are networked and managed remotely. The sending of the contents to each single machine is guaranteed by 200 Livion players. The maintenance activity is automated thanks to the software tailored by CWS.
